Defend or capture city under attack and save its hero


Normal defense city under attack

Hello everyone

I wrote this note more than year ago, added some info to it lately
I didn't entirely revise it, so please let me know if there is any mistakes
I didn't publish anything about that matter before since there are many sayings and i didn't want to force you to use one type

In all cases for the city under attack:
(1) (send to/put in/leave in/reinforce with) your best hero and 1-1k+-5k+ of each warr, work, pikes, swords, cavs, phracts and CATAPULTS
(2) Appoint your best politics hero as a mayor and keep building traps/abatis in low numbers and time it to be done before the hit

for archers hit: more archers and mech

(1),(2)
(3) (send out/dismiss) work, warr, pikes, swords, cavs, phracts and maybe others if you don't have much, but leave (1)
(4) (send to/put in/leave in/reinforce with) archers and pults

for mechanics hit:


In normal defense that has rangers
(traps, abatis, DTs 5000+ range) you will probably lose a lot


you can do one of next

1. (1), (3) and (4) send out your all archers as well and leave only 5k you will probably kill mech and lose some walls

2. (5) Close your gates and let them take all your walls, and maybe you can send resources out with trans, if you have incoming trans tho

2. (6) Use CD, you will have losses as well, but not that big like normal defense
mech loves rangers (traps, abatis, DTs 5000+ range) and that happens in Normal defense
in CD, you will have mostly ATs and some logs, no rangers here, cavs will act like abatis, and you will get less archers losses
you will probably lose all ATs and with many mech or arch waves you are done

for scouts hit (scouts bombs/SBs): more warriors for scouts

you want the scouts to hit the warriors the cheap units so
(1),(2)
(7) The best thing that i could think about is to kill the attacker scouts, so coordinate scouting with all your friends with their best heroes but i hope the attacker has gates open
(8) (send to/put in/leave in/reinforce with) warriors, their numbers should be at least 2.4 times archers

Since SBs are hitting the biggest accumulative attack of defending units, which mostly will be archers
warr att is 5o
arch att is 120
5o*x=120*1
x=120/50=2.4
so, each 1 arch equals 2.4 warr
so, for warr to take the hits of SBs instead of arch, your warr needs to be at least 2.4 times your archers
for that case use this calculator of my thinker friend Dimwit, big thanks to him :)

and same basic calculations with other units
let say you have cavs and their accumulative attack more than any other units you have
warr att is 5o
cavs att 250
x=250/50=5
so, each 1 cav equals 5 warr
so, for warr to take the hits of SBs instead of cavs, your warr needs to be at least 5 times your cavs

(9) If you have a lot of warriors but less than 2.4 times, it is better just (send out/dismiss) some of archers out till this formula became true
arch in this case should and will still have the biggest accumulative attack

(10) If you don't have those warr, then CLOSE ur gates if u have FULL WALLS or if you don't lol who cares

(11) If you don't have those warr, get more swords for SBs by sending other troops out, that happens mostly in CD Compact Defense

(12) Use scouts to take the scout bombs hit, will add more later

for cavs/phracts hit: more pikes for cavs

(1),(2) more abatis
(13) (send to/put in/leave in/reinforce with) more archers, PIKES and pults

if other city has no troops under attack:

(1)

(14) (send to/put in/leave in/reinforce with) archers and pults or , also you can do fast defending with cavs and scouts

(15) In case city has no walls, more archers and swords will make it more difficult for the attacker

Just keep reinforcing till the attacker gets disappointed

If you don't want this city to lose its defending hero:

(16) the idea is to prevent the city hero loyalty from dropping and since the higher attack hero is the one who defends so

Reinforce with higher attack hero with 1 scouts, when the scout got killed your hero will lose 5 loy, or reinforce with 1 cav or others if your so close so your hero doesn't lose loy

Don't reinforce that hero with other troops, so to send it faster

Watch y0ur hero loy and recall if loy got dropped more than

Drop the closest online member from your alliance or use alt or ask anyone close you trust to scout his city loy repetitively so you can recall your hero if the city loy so down and no hope

If you don't want this player to lose his city and you cant reinforce it since there is no time or you don't have troops and you don't want to boot this member

The idea is to capture this city, be the attacker and npc it or move it

(17) look at reports and watch the cavs numbers this attacker is sending

Scout the city
-Drop the closest online member from your alliance or use your alt or ask anyone close you trust to scout his city loy

Reinforce cavs
-Reinforce with cavs more than what the attacker is sending (so your cavs will defend well against his cavs and that's needed specially at 0 loy) usually more than 1k cavs and time it to arrive just before the loy 0 by few seconds

Send food and gold
-Also send food and gold with these cavs or send with scouts and time it just before the cavs arrive 100k of each will be good or according to the gold or food needed for comfort and reward some heroes so, count that from cottages numbers in your scouting report

Get booted, Send 1scout attack
-Tell presbyter to boot you from the alliance and to send invite ASAP and send many attacks with 1+scout with junk heroes and time it to arrive just after the loy 0 by few seconds

Leave good time enough
-It is better for difference between the cavs arrive eta and the scouts attack eta to be good enough to let you to get booted from the alliance so the attack happen

Join you alliance back, wait for the cavs to arrive
-Back to your alliance and maybe you can send some food and gold with scouts to arrive after you capture it and wait till the cavs arrive

Get booted or quit
-Tell presbyter to boot u from the alliance ASAP so you dont miss the attacks (better to coordinate and tell him cavs eta but sometimes it is not accurate)
or you can just quit the alliance, it is faster

Comfort
-If you have gold only comfort with Disaster Relief and reward, you have 5 loy now so at least 5*6=30mins to move your hero back and reward and persuade captive heroes but move your cavs asap or dismiss them from this city embassy or recall them from Reports

-If you have food only comfort with Praying, you have 25 loy now, so, close gates from Rally Spot so you don't lose cavs and now you have time to move cavs and do what ever you want, maybe sell some food to get gold and reward if it has market

Join you alliance back and recall
-If your scouts attack got stuck during the attack due to any reason, join back to the same alliance and recall those heroes

Online defense and sending your resources out or selling them

If you don't have troops, friends, and someone is coming for you and there is no one who can reinforce you quick enough please do this

Close your gates
Put all your resources with all your transports you got and send them out. This way your enemy neither kills your troops nor takes your resources :)
if you can't send all your resources away, sell them in the market at a very high price and take them out after the hit, or sell them for real and buy stone or leave it gold
